
University of Diyala signs a scientific cooperation agreement in the field of scientific research and sustainable development with the governorate.
On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, the University of Diyala, represented by its President, Prof. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, entered into a scientific cooperation agreement with the Diyala Governorate, represented by Mr. Adnan Mohammad Abbas Al-Shammari.
Prof. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak emphasized that the university is committed to this agreement, which aims to foster community benefits through collaborative research, studies, and the exchange of scientific and applied expertise. The agreement also seeks to facilitate the exchange of professional advice and consultations between the two parties. He highlighted the university’s ongoing efforts toward digital transformation, in alignment with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. He further underscored that this agreement represents a strategic step in unifying the efforts of academic institutions and executive bodies, thereby supporting the development priorities of Diyala Governorate.
In his remarks, the Governor of Diyala commended the university’s pivotal role in shaping both individuals and society. He expressed the governorate’s commitment to overcoming challenges and providing necessary support to transform academic research into practical, tangible projects. He also called on local service institutions to engage with the university and leverage its expertise in scientific and technical fields, contributing to the advancement of these departments.
The agreement is designed to strengthen the partnership between the two parties in higher education, scientific research, and community service. It aims to support the achievement of sustainable development goals, promote joint cooperation in applied research projects, facilitate the exchange of expertise, organize training programs for employees, and back community initiatives that address the needs of Diyala’s residents.
