The Webometrics Classification
The Webometrics classification; known as the Cyber Metrics Lab (CCHS), a unit of the National Research Council (CSIC) in Madrid, Spain, known as the Web Metrics Ranking of World Universities. This classification began in 2004 with the classification of 16000 universities. The classification aims primarily at urging the academic institutions in the world to present their scientific activities that reflect their distinguished scientific level on the Internet, while it not considered a ranking or classification of the universities, but an arrangement for the university's website. The classification is done in January and July of each year and is based on measuring the performance of universities through their websites within the following criteria (size – a reference to research – general effect).
