The president of University of Diyala calls for utilizing Global Information Systems and Artificial Intelligence.
On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, the President of Diyala University, Prof. Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, convened a meeting with the university’s Computer Science faculty to discuss various ideas and proposals regarding the integration of Global Information Systems and Artificial Intelligence.
Prof. Tahseen Hussein highlighted the significance of leveraging technology and artificial intelligence, emphasizing the need to adopt international information systems and practical, implementable solutions in this domain. He called for the formation of research groups dedicated to pioneering research that could be published in high-impact journals, such as those indexed by Scopus. Additionally, he stressed the importance of updating the curricula for computer science students to align with advanced international standards, with a particular focus on incorporating artificial intelligence as part of the foundational curriculum.
During the meeting, the Director of the Electronic Computer Center, Assistant Professor Yasser Amer Abbas, presented a comprehensive plan for the university’s digital transformation. He outlined the achievements of various committees in reaching the goals outlined in the plan, particularly in the areas of artificial intelligence and information technology. Furthermore, he proposed emerging research directions in the fields of computer engineering and computer science.
