The College of Law and Political Science conducted a seminar on the right of individuals to a healthy environment
College of Law and Political Science, University of Diyala, organized a seminar regarding the right of individuals to a healthy environment. The seminar was presented by the assistant lecturer, Miami Ismail, and the assistant lecturer, Israa Mohammad Kazem.
The seminar aimed to clarify the concept of the right of individuals to a healthy environment, as it is one of the important issues, and has become a risk to society in general and to some human rights in particular.
The meeting reviewed the most important international agreements, such as the International Covenant on Economic and Social Rights of 1966 and the Rights of the Child of 1989, which were keen to guarantee the right of individuals to a healthy environment.
A set of proposals have been presented, which were: working on the necessity of increasing awareness in exercising the right of individuals to the environment, the necessity of working to ensure a right educational environment through the faithful transmission of educational resources, and commitment to implementing the laws and instructions that regulate the right to an intact environment in academic institutions.
