A research team publishes a paper in a global publishing house (Springer)

A research team from the Department of Chemistry, College of Science, University of Diyala, which included Assistant Professor Ekhlas Abdullah Hassan and postgraduate student Dhifaf Abdul Azim, published a paper in a global publishing house (Springer).

The paper aims to determine the irisin levels in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus and their correlation with insulin therapy and glycaemic control. The researchers demonstrated low irisin levels in type 1 diabetes mellitus and the association of the highest irisin amounts to insulin therapy and better glycaemic control. Furthermore, the measurement of irisin levels could be useful as laboratory markers to monitor type 1 diabetes mellitus severity and therapy response.
