A Team of Researchers from the Faculty of Engineering Publish a Paper in a Polish Journal.

A team of researchers from the Faculty of Engineering, composed of teacher Dr. Hussein Abdul Amir Abdul Kasem and Miss. Gennan Nasif Shihab, published a paper in the Polish International Journal of Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering entitled: (Performance of Unsupervised Change Detection Method Based on PSO and K-means Clustering for SAR Images).

The study included proposing a method for detecting the change in uncontrolled images to produce a more accurate change map from imbalanced SAR images for the same land cover. The research investigated the use and application of the particle swarm improvement algorithm with an algorithm combining the means to segregate the image into layers and then classify it by the Gabor filter to create a new change map. The study looked at comparing the results obtained with those of other methods that confirm the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method.
