With the Cooperation of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Department, the University President Opens the Sessions of the First Virtual E-Education International Conference.
With the supervision of His Excellency the Minister of High Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdul Sahib, and under the banner "Towards a promising future," the University of Diyala held its first virtual international E-Education conference, entitled “Electronic Education and Prospects for Change," in collaboration with the Scientific Monitoring and Evaluation Service.
During the opening session, the President of the University of Diyala, Professor Dr. Abdel Monim Abbas Kream, said: This Conference is in keeping with the guidance of our distinguished Ministry and with the vision in presenting what will serve the educational process and affirming the high sense of responsibility in seeking to keep up with the latest global developments. The most important feature of this Conference is the broad participation of Arab and regional States with papers that have touched on the real problems of E-Education. The Conference reflects the University's approach of being a platform for science, love, peace, and a home for all Iraqis. Since the first day of the COVID-19 pandemic, the people of Diyala have been keen to provide a model for e-education. Finally. He thanked His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education, the Chairman and members of the Ministerial team, and all those who had supported the education process at our University.
The Associate Chief of the Scientific supervision and Evaluation department, Dr. Abdul Jabbar Hossain Ali, in his statement: The integration of roles between the Ministry of Education and its universities and colleges and their base scientific departments have had a significant impact on the transition to e-learning through flexible treatment and adaptation, praising the achievements of the directorates, professors and students of Diyala University.
The Assistant President of the Diyala University of Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Amer Mohamed Ibrahim, Chairman of the Scientific Committee, indicated that (26) papers were submitted to the Conference by Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Iraq, Palestine, and Turkey (16) of which were accepted.
The President Assistant for Administration affairs, Professor Dr. Haider Shakir Mezher, Chairman of the Preparatory Committee, explained that the main objective of the conference which was held in the Al-Maarf Hall of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences and through online platforms was to exchange ideas and experiences among researchers to highlight the latest findings of scientific research in the field of e-education.
The Coordinator of the Ministerial Group for E-Education, A. M. Dr. Amer Salim Al-Amir Lecture at Opening Session (The e-learning experiment in Iraq), in which he explained the efforts made by the Ministry of Education and Iraqi universities in the context of the pandemic of COVID-19 to continue the course of education and not to lose school years to students, he revealed figures of more than thousands of courses and lectures conducted to train teachers and students to upgrade their skills in e-education.
The Director of the Computer Electronic Centre, Dr. Yasir Amer, in his lecture "E-Learning Experience at the University of Diyala," detailed the University's achievements under the COVID-19 conditions and the programs it used to make e-education work and to continue its scientific activities.
Finally, the President of the University honored the participants with the prized testimony for their role in the success of the Conference.
