The Minister of Health and Environment Meets Diyala University President to Discuss Supporting Faculties of Medicine
The Minister of Health and Environment excellency Dr. Hassan Mohamed AL Tamimi met the President of Diyala University Prof. AbdulMonem Abbas Karim and discussed a number of issues that are related to providing support to medicine faculties. The university president visited the minister of health and environment at his office on Sunday the 11th of April to offer congratulations.
The minister of health and environment excellency emphasized the importance of standing shoulder to shoulder against the circumstances imposed by COVID-19 and valued the university role in raising health awareness among citizens through numerous conferences, workshops and research which resolved many problems which was faced by medical staff during the crisis. His excellency also assured the ministry readiness to provide all kinds of support to our university, in particular medicine faculties for their importance in providing the Ministry of Health with medical staff.
From his side, the president of Diyala university submitted suggestion that may improve and support the medicine faculty by allocating 10% of the faculty graduates to work at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and assigning mission of teaching at medicine faculty to the specialized doctors of the ministry of health to avoid the lack of teaching staff against the increasing numbers of students. As well as building new teaching hospitals to for students training purposes. Dr. Abdel Monim Abbas Karim also recalled the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research procedures to face the threat of COVID-19 epidemic under the guidance of its Minister Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdel Sahib Excellency. Especially those associated with the adoption of e-education as an alternative to traditional education while sticking to the health procedures. He also valued the university support the Ministry of Health by providing with resuscitation equipment and excrement gates manufactured by the university and by organizing a series of campaigns to provide citizens with protective requirements which addressed the shortages of the ministry of health equipment.
At the end of the meeting, the university shield and a bouquet of roses was delivered the minister of health as an expression of the university president deep thanks and gratitude to His Excellency.
