University of Diyala Achieves Recognition in RUR World University Rankings for the Fifth Consecutive Year.
In a significant academic milestone, the University of Diyala has been included for the fifth consecutive time in the prestigious Russian World University Rankings (RUR Rankings 2025).
On this occasion, the President of the University, Professor Tahseen Hussein Mubarak, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the university’s dedicated academic and administrative staff. He commended their continued commitment to enhancing the university’s global academic standing, stating:
“I congratulate our esteemed university community whose persistent efforts have elevated the institution’s reputation in international academic forums. This achievement, reflected in our inclusion in the RUR Rankings 2025, is a testament to the hard work and excellence demonstrated by our members. I encourage everyone to continue striving for distinction in the global academic landscape across various disciplines.”
Asst. Prof. Khaled Ghadhban, Head of the University’s World Rankings Unit, emphasized that this accomplishment was made possible through the unwavering support of the University President and the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Amer Mohammad Ibrahim. He elaborated on the university’s performance in the 2025 RUR Rankings as follows:
- Overall World University Ranking: Ranked 1077th out of 1244 international institutions; 17th among 49 participating Iraqi universities.
- Research Ranking: Ranked 1173rd globally; 5th among Iraqi universities.
- International Diversity Ranking: Positioned at 1194th globally; 34th within Iraq.
- Financial Sustainability Ranking: Achieved 941st place globally; ranked 29th in Iraq.
These results underscore the University of Diyala’s steady progress and commitment to academic excellence, research productivity, international collaboration, and sustainable development.
